I’m always on the hunt for a new place to work, meet friends and eat good food around Golden, so I was excited about a new concept opening on the edge of Golden called Morris & Mae Market. Since we are good friends with the owner’s, Dan and Jen Thoemke, we have been anticipating its opening for months. We were there at the ribbon cutting and have been back there several times since. We like it so much The Fox Group is actually co-sponsoring a Super Bowl party there in a few weeks. I thought I would take a moment and tell you a bit more about what makes this space so awesome!
First of all, Morris & Mae is a food hall with six vendor options, a full bar with a “Cheers” like feel, stadium seating with a large big screen TV, comfortable seating and a light and bright vibe.
The decor is spot on with unique detail throughout. In addition to the food hall, it adjoins a co-working space called Connects Workspace, where individuals, established companies and start-ups have office and desk space.
Morris & Mae has the perfect variety of delicious food options. Mac Nation is known for their mac & cheese options. La Rosita has amazing taco combinations. Kikis with their fresh acai, poke bowls and smoothies. Alpine House is your stop for breakfast burritos and bar bites. Paisan which offers flatbread wraps. Goldmine Cupcakes and Espresso…enough said. A full bar is located in the middle of these eateries plus an additional market selling basic items including flowers.
As if this isn’t enough to lure you in, Morris and Mae also hosts events throughout the week…everything from Live Music to Morning Yoga to Sip and Paint. Be sure to check the link here for upcoming events.
Morris & Mae is on the bottom floor of Aurum Golden, a trendy apartment concept right off Highway 70 and Highway 40 on the edge of Golden. Directly off highway 70, Morris and Mae is perfect for skiers heading to and from the mountains, mountain folk from Evergreen, Genesee and Golden who need a close and quick bite, Red Rocks Amphitheatre concert goers looking for food before and after concerts, as well as those co-working at Connects, living in Aurum or staying at the Origin Hotel Red Rocks a short walk away.
