Evergreen Colorado is a mountain community of close to 10,000 people approximately 35 minutes from Downtown Denver. Evergreen sits at about 7200 ft in elevation and offers year round recreation opportunities including hiking, mountain biking, golfing, fishing, ice skating, snowshoeing and much more. Given the renewed demand for mountain homes, the competition for homes in Evergreen is heating up. With limited supply and an increased load of buyers from all over the country, demand is extremely strong.
There are numerous trails throughout the Evergreen area, and plenty of wildlife as well. If you are looking for a mountain community with easy access to Denver and shopping, this is a great community to consider. Evergreen has its own schools as well.
Many people choose to live in Evergreen because they want space and privacy away from the city, but still want access to Denver and its attractions. There is a little bit of everything in Evergreen as far as housing, from condos and townhomes, to simple mountain cabins, to large million dollar homes. Evergreen is quite large, and prices will vary depending on how close you are to downtown Evergreen, and the I 70 corridor.
Generally speaking, the farther you are away from downtown Evergreen, the less expensive the homes will become. Roads vary as well, and though Evergreen maintains is roads well, there are several neighborhoods with dirt roads and steeper driveways so its important to have someone on the ground helping you when you are searching for homes online. Its difficult to get a feel for the reality of mountain living from a computer alone.
